Nicole Gaines's Bio:

As a psychotherapist, Nicole Gaines has managed a 90+ client caseload, conducted full clinical assessments, wrote person centered plans, and treated a variety of clients with different socio-economic, ethnic, racial, and age backgrounds. She has experience in treating most diagnoses, including Schizophrenia and severe psychosis. The majority of her clinical work has been treating clients diagnosed with PTSD, MDD, Bipolar Disorder, and GAD. She has also counseled a small caseload of English speaking expat clients in the Nice, France area, utilizing a blend of Existential Therapy methods and Rogerian approaches. Throughout Nicole's graduate and undergraduate studies, she researched and presented on military mental health. Recently, she presented at the National At-Risk Convention in Myrtle Beach, SC on utilizing personality inventories in the schools to understand students' preferences in the classroom. Collaborating with a team in the school system as a Graduation Coach for Communities in Schools at East Lincoln High School has given her a clearer perspective on how to help at-risk youth stay in school, graduate, and build goals for their futures. This also has built upon her experiences as a Special Needs Aid and grant funded Psychotherapist for the schools. Her goal in life is to help as many people as she can.

We provide encrypted online video conferencing for coaching, counseling, and consulting as well as some other services such as emailing sessions, if you are uncomfortable with face-to-face conversation or would just prefer another level of privacy. Young adults, athletes, college/career minded individuals, rural populations, and expats who need convenient and accessible services are who we target. Our services are in no way a replacement for traditional outpatient counseling, but do offer an alternative for higher functioning, fast paced, technology based clients without a major diagnosis (see more information on our website under "SHiFT.services").
